Performance Chips

I had a friend ask me about those $10 chips that Redline Technologies sells on ebay. I doubt it's a chip at all, does anyone know what the heck it is?

Obviously it probably doesn't work, but I figured someone on here might know what they really are.

Thanks everyone!

it's more than likely a resistor and a wire with a self written instruction manual telling you to place it inline with the IAT sensor to increase fuel output...all it does is burn up your gas, electronics, warranty, and spark plugs...

in short IT'S A SCAM!

I noticed that they have been on ebay for 2 years. I wonder how they get away with that? They claim to increase gas mileage, power and everything else under then sun.

they're just like any other scam on e-bay. they get away with it because of consumers who either don't know anything, will believe anything, or just wanna buy it to say they have it...people like that keep them in business

I emailed them, this is the reply I got:

We sell electronically modified resistor modules. These are not resistors that are generic to all vehicles. We custom make each and every one of our chips.

I'm just hoping my buddy didn't order one yet, sure sounds like a piece of crap.

I bought one (different brand, but same idea) just because I was bored. Basiclly it is a placebo for your truck, it doesn't do a darn thing, but they want you to think it does.
