it flushes the carbonation in your engine. if you haven't done it do it. it helps with ne pinging problems you have. wait a minute you have an 06 right so you probably don't need it but it wouldn't help. there is 3 ways to do it the gas tank the crank case(oil) or your brake booster

its nothing like that.. this stuff cakes onto the inside of your engine when it solidifys it breaks down the carbon and when you start your car up again it all burns up and goes out your tailpipe causing tons and tons of white smoke.. you have a newer truck so you wont get much smoke.. but no matter where you put this stuff, crank case, gas, or vacume lines, it will still puff smoke so be carfull dont get stuck in trafic after you use a can of this stuff make sure its done smoking..

and be carfull using too much fule injector cleaner you can actual clog your cats with that stuff..

Walmart also has it and they are everywhere unlike some brands of the parts stores. If you only put it in the fuel its a good Idea and works great. Never smoked from the exhaust when I used it in the fuel. I did do it once in the crankcase on my old 93 with about 135,000 miles. Very little smoke and alot of work for not much in the way of results.

Granted if it dont need it you wont see much of a result. But its too much work for me to try again on my 04 with 50,000 miles or ever. I use good gas, keep the oil changed with good oil and put plenty of highway mileage on it. So I wont use it in the crankcase again. But I am not knocking the benifit, just that I wont do it. Only in the tank at every 3000 miles.

I used it in the brake bootser of a 91 5.7 camaro that I had with headers and dual exhaust. WOW it sure was funny to watch cars coming at me cause they were all slamming on their brakes haha. I did it at a car lot garage so I was in town. Funny stuff I want to do it again just for the fun of it. But it works great though.
