Strange Occurance

About a month ago, when I started my truck (I had been out driving for a while & went into a restaurant for lunch), it would not idle...just kept surging, then would only run about 35mph, and had NO power what so ever. I didn't think it was going to pull itself up a smal hill on the road. I restarted the truck several times in the paring lot before attempting to make it home, but had to take the chance.

This has never happened before, so I decided to head straight for the shop. When I get there, the truck shuts off on its own. I go tell the mechanic what's going on. When he came out to start the truck. it's running fine....NO problems what do ever. He puts it on the computer anyway....get no codes what so ever.

Anyway, since then the truck just doesn't seem to have the power it did before, and I'm getting **** for mileage. It wasn't great before, but it's terrible now.

I've tried to reset the program with the BAMA tuner but no change. That reminds me, am I supposed to return the truck to stock before trying to re-enter the program I have, or if I switch to another program? I don't remember, but I haven't been putting it back to stock config before re-loading the program.

Anybody had this happen before?

I've seen bad crank position sensors do that sorta thing. The cadillac northstar motors are notorius for it actually.

As far as reflashing.. I have no problems going straight from one custom tune to another.

Thanks !!!! I thought about that, but wouldn't that throw a code? I got nothing, not even a CE light when it was happening.

Here's a little something I think is strange. Normally I run either Amoco or Shell gasoline, but I forgot to get fuel the other morning when I left the house. The only place I could find when I needed fuel was a Wawa. Like I said, I normally don't run the "cheap" gas, but didn't have a choice at the time. So I put $20 in it and let it ride. The truck actually seems to be running better. I wonder if Wawa has less ethanol in their fuel?? I know ALL my vehicles have ran like crap since they stated putting more ethanol in the gas.
