Which one will yield the best overall gains for my ohv the sc flashpaq or diablo intune or is there something better in this price range

My truck is a 5 speed and has exhaust/air filter

 

I had the SC its just cookie cutter tunes. They do yield some gains but not many and to see any real gains you have to run 91 octane or better so you have to weigh the cost. I got better out of a email tune from SCT they are a little more upfront but the tunes can always be rewritten. Im running the 87 tune that was custom for my 5 speed swap and it seems as lively if not more than the 91 tune from SC. Its all about what you want to spend SCT is more up front but your not locked into premium fuel. So id weigh the costs carefully.

 

Do I need custom tunes for the sct?

 

Yes but most places include 3 custom tunes with purchase price. Some will even do a live data tune if you can find one Fred at rogue used to but he's been kinda out of the loop lately. Basically that means you'd don't have to use a dyno you give him specs and he will build a basic tune file you get it in email or preloaded on the handheld when it ships. Then you flash it and drive with the handheld to record live data and then you can send the data to the tuner and have the file tweaked to fit better with your engine/driving style. Its as close to a dyno tune as you can get without the dyno costs.

 

What about the diablosport, they come with tunes on them and you can also upload custom tunes

 

Does anybody know what the x3 will do for the ohv

 

I'm not sure about that Diablo but I do have a superchip cortex version and I absolutely love it. With the superchip it comes with three modes performance 87 octane in a tow. You can changer shift point pressures with the tuner as well you can adjust your gearing and tire size and you can make your own tuning settings
