Traded in the old Ranger

While I loved the 2008 Ranger this Monday I traded it in on a 2014 F250 Super Duty with a 6.7 liter diesel.

The Ranger (a 4wd extended cab with a 4.0) had 118,000 miles on it. It had been a workhorse. I always maintained it well but I worked it pretty hard, too. Over the last 18,000 miles I had replaced the front hubs and wheel bearings, AC compressor, front brakes (the third set of pads), front rotors (they had rusted to the hubs and I had to beat the hell out of them to pull them off). My general rule is if I have to work on a vehicle every time I drive it - it's time to go.

The new extended cab Super Duty is 4wd and extended cab. It's a substantial truck. It also gets better mileage than did the Ranger. We recently moved from Connecticut to New Hampshire. Diesel fuel in New Hampshire is cheaper than regular gas in Connecticut!

While the Ranger was a terrific truck the Super Duty is fantastic!
