Transmission

I'm looking for a transmission for my 1994 Ranger ,4.0 4x4 regular cab . I have found several Rangers that are extended cabs my question is will those transmissions fit in my Ranger?

Needs to be from a 4.0l engine or bolt holes won't line up, and needs to be from a 4x4 or transfer case won't bolt on.

Regular or extended cab won't matter.

Just engine and 4WD

If Manual it will be an M5OD-R1 trans
If Automatic it will be an A4LD trans, can't use 4R or 5R automatic

Both of these transmissions are made for the engine they will be attached to, so a 3.0l trans won't fit a 4.0l engine, and then either with a 2WD tail shaft or 4WD tail shaft.
There are no adapter plates.

And just as a heads up, your 4.0l regular cab 4x4 Ranger is fairly rare, 4.0l pretty much only came in extend cabs, and with 4WD makes it almost a unicorn, it was a custom order.
