Truck is FUBAR!!

Well it's kinda weird. 8 months/ 9000 miles after I had my timing chain rattle fixed my truck suddenly dies. Truck currently has 74K miles on it. Getting it to the dealer they find only the crank will turn and nothing else. Turns out the keyway going from the crank to the sproket came off or something like that. Timing chain and sproket are fine though. They now have that part kinda fixed but not sure why this happened. WTF!! They told me a valve may have dropped hitting a piston causing this. Never seen this before so they need to contact ford before they go any further but there is definently another issue here. Can any of you help me with this? Looks to me they didn't do the timing chain job right but how can I prove that? If I have to pay anything on this repair im sure in the end it's gonna be alot of $$$. Any help would be great. Thanks!! Tomorrow I will have a for sure answer about whats going on.

If something broke on your timing the engine is toast. Its an interference engine so if it did break start looking for a new engine

Seriously? They said it was on the crank to the sproket. I was starting to go in a left turn lane when it happened. No 6k rpms

It was sopposed to be corrected but some 05's had it and mine was one of them probably because it was built in 1/05

Hopefully not. Anyway if something is broke on the timing it's their fault for doing an improper job I would say. All parts due to my timing were new 9k miles ago and still have warranty on the job.

Getting a new one. Don't want one from a junk yard. No guarantee on them.

Yeah that would be cool but too much involved along with alot more cash. Labor alone just to tear into what I have now already is kicking my ***.

Yeah im sure I could do it but I don't have a big enough garage, time to work on it, along with down time for the truck. Gotta get this thing back on the road asap. Maybe a project down the line when I have a bigger work space and another truck to drive as needed. I can't use my mustang every day for what I do lol.

Yep, buy a new motor, you know what you got...always taking a chance buying a used motor and costs the same to swap out.

Or the less smart idea: take it to one of those "push, pull or drag" events they always have at a dealership, get $2000, and buy a new truck lol

Well according to my researches what the service writer told me isn't possible. If something up top fails it will not shear off the keyway... They did not torque the crank pulley properly due to this happening. This is definently their fault and didn't admit it. Now I have a fight to deal with!!
