True Offroad Exhaust 01 ranger 4.0 sohc
i have a 2001 ranger edge 4X4 4.0 sohc auto 5spd 4.10 gears.
does anyone know of a true offroad exhaust system????? headers with egr hookup on lefthand side and pipes with o2 sensor eliminators or loops to fool computer with crossover pipe, one or two low restriction mufflers and outlets downward, to the side or out the back. where i live no one checks for oem factory emissions plumbing when being inspected for yearly window sticker .
there has to be one somewhere. i've searched the internet and asked several performance shops but nothing as of yet. you can email me at
texasccl2@msn.com
or post here.
thanks,
michael

I wouldnt eliminate the EGR as it wouldnt give a performance benefit (to my knowlege) and I would do a shorty exhaust. Basically Headers if you want them, then the cats, then after the last cat put a muffler and have a turndown on the end of it and keep it before the rear diff. I would also just try to find the smallest Diameter muffler to keep it from getting caught, if not delete the muffler all together.

He didn't say he was going to eliminate the egr. He said he needs headers with the egr on the left hand side.
If you're looking for an "off road" exhaust just straight pipe it and dopn't mess with mufflers.

I wouldn't personally go straight pipe either it was just a suggestion. Getting a high flow cat isn't the best idea either. The stock cats on rangers have very goo flow its after the cats that the power loss is. I too would just get a gibson or magnaflow or flowmaster etc. system. Thats why I have the Gibson Dual Extreme System on my ranger.
