are there any tuner kits for the v6 4.0 sohc? my ranger is a 2001.

 

I think people use the SCT Xcal 2 for tuning. If you can find an Xcal 2 then go for it I'd say.

I checked the website and all they have available is the SCT SF3 or the SCT X3.
SCT X3
The X3 is the one where you can write your own tunes. It does not come with any pre-written tunes.
SCT SF3
The SF3 comes with pre-written tunes. You can't change or modify them.

SF3 is useless on a ranger. none of the pre-canned tunes on it work on a ranger. you'll need to get an X3 and get custom tunes for it.

you can put custom tunes on an SF3 too but its pointless to get it.

 

My post was just going off my search on the SCT website.

You can put custom tunes on the SF3 if you buy an upgrade that turns the SF3 into the X3.

 

sf3 isn't pointless, get a guy to custom tune it for you, you can still modify shift pressure spark stuff like that.

 

The problem is finding a guy to tune it for you. They aren't everywhere.
