guys, on our 4.0s, what is the little mechanism directly behind the battery? on my 06 it says 4x4 on it and has i think three metal tubes running off of it....

sorry no pics to show what im talking about, but one of yall may know what im talking about.

from what it says, i realize its a 4x4 component, but wth is it and what does it do?

 

ABS pump. I believe it says 4x4 because it is going into a 4wd truck. The abs sensors are different on a 4wd truck.

 

+1 ABS my 2wd one said 2wd, lol.

 

glad to know! im knew everything abut my 2.3L as i was the sole mechanic....

im just now learning my way arouund the 4.0 and 4x4 components, thanks ya'll
