What brand of Intake System????

What brand would you say would be the best choice for a cold-air-intake system?
K&N, Volant, AEM, others?
I was looking at K&N or AEM, both run around 200$

I don't like those at all, the one setup was 260$, the other one is just a tube for over 100$ with no filter...I don't know

I like www.performancecenter.com, their intakes are about 50$ less than the previous mentioned place, but it's still alot, I think.

brent, if you look INSIDE your tube what do ya see?

a non smooth surface which makes it harder for air to move through...

u get improved air flow and a little hp...mainly more mpg with the cone...

think of it...360 degrees of air intake vs 180 with the stock flat filter...more air

a cai is mainly for imports...they position them to maximize ducting to allow the coldest of cold air possible in..

we'll prolly never get one, as our engines are cramed in the engine bay

My friend has a cheap kit in his car, the tube and cone filter. It's so cheap that the cone material is corroding and whatever it's made out of, is just caked in stuff that normally would just fall out of a 'good' filter. The tube itself is also tarnishing or whatever.
I agree, that if you would put a good quality cone filter on the stock tube it would be better than stock, but getting a quality 'tube rig' would be better with less restrictive tubing than the stock corrugated rubber one, the difference would be very-unnoticeable i think.

The SSD kit is 190$ for the tube and adapter and k&n filter.
The MAC kit is 159$ + shipping.
The K&N and AEM kits I found start at 191$, same price
