What do these trucks top out at?
Today I was on the highway and everyone was cruising really fast. I hit about 90 mph and the truck wouldn't go any faster. It started bucking at that speed. My rpm's were at about 3200. Not that I need to drive that fast or any faster, but is this normal for the truck to do this at that speed or is there a possible problem with it?

Took my driving privies for 6 months, 8 points, close to 3grand in fines/fees. After the first 6 months, I was allowed a conditional privy to drive to and from work ( and Detroit, Centralia, Ohio, Philly..
).
I still have 4 points from that incident on my record. I made off EASY compared to the guy in the other lane whom tried to run from the Leos ( yes, I openly admitted to racing, in court.. ).
You don't want to know what the ' other guy ' faced.
I SHOULD have had Jailtime and Vehical Impoundment. I knew all 4 Officers that were on the scene, they knew me.. They let the wrecker take my truck to my house but I was carted off.
I won't say ' it sucked '. It was a ' learning experience ' , a good one at that .

Don't be sorry, I'm not :) . All is fine and well ! :)
You want to know why I ' got off ' as ' easy ' as I did? You want to know what was really funny..
The guy whom ' took off ', hit one of the cop cars ( not badly ) when they cut him off to stop him. They wanted me to ' witness ' it for them.
When I had to see the Judge he asked me ' 140? Do you know how fast you were going? ' I told him ' Sir, My speedo reads 120, I was in the middle of 4th gear, both stages were blowing, I have no reason to believe the Officer whom wrote that ticket would have any reason at all to be untruthful. I just pulled over, why make things worse then what they already were? '.
What was funny was the look on the judges face. He didn't think I was serious at all. Picture a very conservative old Black judge.. Clarence Thomas type.. Biting on his lower lip and his eyes glowing red with the ' wrath of god '/rage looking down on you.. I thought he was going to beat me severely .
The cop that wrote the ticket came forward and spoke on my behalf, gave me a good character reference and the whole story of what happened. I pointed out to the judge whom I was racing.
All he said was ' No ****? Sorry but Im used to everyone saying they are innocent and trying to get over on the system. '
He gave me my punishment, had me verify I understood what he explained to me, signed a bunch of papers, Used a Mastercard to pay the Court and was out the door on my own 2 feet. Lawyer didn't have to say a word on my behalf.
I have one of those ' Cards ' Cops and Sheriffs have.. This one has the Judges info on it. I have his sticker on the windshield of my truck as well.
Its amazing what can happen when we tell the truth for what it is and let the good of others do as it will.
What DID sukk.. I went to the ' Hayfield bash '/meet in Ohio to hang out with ScottyG , Dave01978, Thatguy and others.. and I was bagged on route 11 coming home.. I didn't know it was a 55mph area.. Luckily, I just regained all my privies with no restrictions 2 days prior.

At 125.. these trucks get REAL loose. 130 is tough to keep on the road. The suspension is far from built to stay on the ground. Its very scary.
I agree. The only time i've had my truck over 80 is when I was trying to pass a tractor in southern MN. He was doing 50 and swerving all over the place so I punched it and went around him, when I looked down I was doing about 95. No bucking though.
I've had mine up to around 114 when it was brand new...racing a buddy of mine down the highway one night...but we were going down hill. Now the truck seems to say "HEY!, EFF YOU!" around 100...Suprisingly, these trucks seem to stick to the road better than most small pickups...I can take some preetty tight corners at 45-60 mph without much body roll or much play in the suspension...I wouldn't trade my ranger for a sports car any day of the week. It gets me where I need to be fast enough....
Oh and D, that story is just amazing. One of my buddys had one of those get off easy storys back in 2006.

My buddy Matt was on his way home from his girlfriends house after a fight they had. He has a 99 Accord V6 and likes to drive fast. Anywho he had called me to chat because of the fight he and Erin had had and needed to vent. So in the process of venting he decided to challenge an Impala sitting next to him at the light, not thinking that Arapahoe County uses Impala's for unmarked traffic enforcement. So the Impala gave in, Matt got on it hard, smoked the Impala, only to be greeted 1/2 mile down the road by a couple marked CV's. They however did not light him up for another 2 miles. When they did, they told him the Impala had clocked him doing 115 in a 45, and 85 in a 40mph construction zone. They had a little meeting in the parking lot he pulled into, saying he maintained firm control of the car at those speeds and he was no stranger to driving. I would hope so seeing as he's a driving instructor. He should have gone to jail, car impounded, and license revoked at those speeds, but rather they gave him a 8 point reckless driving ticket. He took it into court to tell them he was guilty, and they dropped the charge to a 1 point, careless driving ticket and a $250 fine. He hasn't done that since.

when i first got the truck, bone stock i hit like 92
BL and 33s i passed a truck on a 2lane bumpy highway got to 88... let me tell ya that was some scary ****!!! it was boucin' and swirving haha
35s... i have maybe hit 80-85 comin off a mountain..
my advice to everyone.. if you want to go over 100 go buy a vehicle made for it..

94 MPH before the 31x10.5's and a tune in 4th.
105 MPH after the 31x10.5's.
135 MPH after a tune.
Don't try this at home folks - controlled environment with someone watching the tires while double strapped to the dyno. I let off at 135 when the tires started to "grow".
Those are all stock - All I did was pull the factory limits.
The sole purpose of these runs was to show factory limits, 2nd vs. 4th gear and some other "disputed" dyno myths.
