What's your average MPG...?
I just spent part of the day preforming a tune up on my 1994 4.0 SOHV 4X4. I've been trying to achieve a higher highway MPG than 15 and was wondering what everyone else gets to figure out where where I should be at. I plan on filling the tank in the morning and i during the week so I can test the new MPG, I shall return with an update!
P.S. I just noticed i put MPH instead of MPG on the tread, lol sorry posting from my Android.

I'm averaging about 12-14 mpg, but that's because I don't drive on the freeways a lot anymore. 90% of my driving is city....it's killing me. This summer should be better, I have several out-of-state trips planned. We'll see how it improves.
wait. some of you guys are getting better efficiency than mine with much bigger tires and lifts. is this only due to gear setups? i have a 4.0 with 3.55 gears, running 31" tires. would my mpg increase if i changed the rear end to say, 4.10s? i never paid attention to mpg when the truck was completely stock.

I get like 13, on a good day... Probably has something to do with the fact that, I drive it like I am in Nascar... afterall, I drive a work truck, thats 13 years old, that gets 6mpg... its big, its heavy, and it doesnt move... so when I hop in the ranger its like 'party time' lol
Well I did the math and I'm averaging about 16.3, a little better but still not great. Oh well I:ll be working close to home now so I guess it really won't matter after I start my new job. Yay no more commuting!
with 29"s I averaged 18 , went to 30's and averaged 18 went to 31's and I average 16 ...
2wd 4.0 L . auto , 3.55 , Normally I run 60 to 65 mph I live about 20 miles from the nearest city and don't spend much time in it

4.0L SOHC, 32's, 4.10's, auto,
according to ultra gauge I average 16mpg with mixed city and highway. Just cruising on the highway has gotten as high as 22mpg, in town not sure probably around 11 to 13.
