'00 to 01' ranger swap, battery harness issues

I'm in the middle of my swap right now and I am stuck at the battery harness and could use a little of insight.

I am swapping a 2000 mountaineer 5.0 to my 2001 ranger edge 3.0 using a complete donor. I feel like I have what I need for wiring in the PATS, VSS and Tach, but the battery harness is now holding me back. I do not know which wires to look for and I have seen so much mixed info that I am really just confused now.

I also may have done something stupid.. I cut the male side of the 42 pin connector on the 5.0 harness back about 20 inches with the intent of lengthening the 3.0 harness to mate with the shorter female 42pin of the 5.0 engine harness. In doing that I hope I haven't messed the harness I actually need because I got it backwards or something.

Either way, I can go to the pull-a-part and get another harness pretty easy, but can anyone please explain what I am supposed to do with the battery harness? I could really use the help guys..

Any help, pictures, or anything would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks,

Chris
