2000 ranger xlt coil spring 2wd v8 swap question
Hey guys,
Does anybody know or have a list of everything needed to be done for a swap on a 2000 ford ranger xlt 2wd cool spring setup. I plan on buying an explorer to do this but can't locate a good thread for this. Does anyone have one?

Don't think there is any one "answer". Ford seemed to make wiring/function changes about very 2 years so every combination of Ranger and Expo has unique issues.
Buying a complete Expo/Mounty will provide most of the hardware but there will be extras needed.
Generally, the wiring is NEVER plug and play with a/c function being the most complex challenge.
PATS, and a valid speed signal are also electrical issues.
Two different fuel systems and pressures may come into play (or not)
Engine mounting plates are a must. Difficult to DIY out of 5/16 steel plate but doable or can b e-bay'd
OBX is about the only header option or use oem cast manifolds. The earlier Expo 5.0 tubular exhaust manifolds are junk.
Expo cats can be used with the Expo oil pan but the exhaust behind the cats will be custom
I found it useful to scrap yard a couple wiring plugs to make plug in adapter harneses for the 42 pin engine harness and alternator/AC harness. Made most of the wiring changes needed inside the adapters.
Expo driveshaft will fit a std cab short bed Ranger, custom or lucky breakers yard find for a longer wheelbase Ranger.
Get an EVTM for both the Ranger and doner Expo to sort out the wiring challenges.
