alright guys i tried searching the forum but didnt rly find the answeres i was looking for....first what are ur guys opionion for the best year 302 to use...second...what are the rest of the stuff i need to make this swap go as quickly as possible...i wanna start gettin my stuff now so this winter i can get it done...and this is a 2004 4.0 4*4 model...any help will greatly be appreciated...

A tcase out of an f150 if you dont want the awd explorer case.

 

would any year work...or does it all depend on what year motor i get

 

The explorer guys upgrade to the BW 4406 case, its just really tight in the ranger rails.

It may touch the frame, if it does you will need to decide what to do about that.


Ford has kept the same setup in the f150 for years. so cases back to the 70's will work. Even the rocktastic np 205, you just need to trim the trans for the shifter rails and build a crossmember to hold its 160 pounds.

Im sorry i didnt see he was talking about a 4406 t case. Im still AWD with. Im in the process of swapping to an mrodr2 with a 4406 so ill answer that in time.
