Deranged The rebuild begins, at Texas Diesel Power!
Yeah,
Well, I got the balancer on today, the belt, the radiator, and cross member, and mounted the HP turbo. The LP turbo required a little cutting of the fender well but fits just fine. The Pipe from the LP to the HP turbo had to have the v band flange cut off since the new turbo does not have a V band. I had a boot laying here that some how fits the pipe and the turbo now. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then.

Well, the flange was made to actually fit the turbo, and I got it mounted up. Had to "trim" a little of the inner fender but it fits pretty nice. Also convenient that the new turbo has a threaded piece right by the compressor outlet to make a strap so it doesn't blow the boot off.

And the radiator is mounted and plumbed and figured I would go ahead and put the grill back on. Injectors get here tomorrow.

Yes, the big turbo, (atmospheric, or low pressure), is the first to get fresh air. It feeds the High pressure, or (Small turbo). The big one feeds air to it at say 40 PSI, then the HP turbo boost that up to say 80ish. Exhaust goes through the HP turbo first, then to the LP turbo.
Most get it wrong. LOL
Injectors got here today, along with a hurricane. FML I now have everything back. All I need is to get them in, and get one 5.5" to 4" silicone boot for the MAF sensor tube, and air filter element. Oh yeah, and I have family coming in tomorrow till next thursday, then Friday and Saturday is Aquapalooza here on Lake Travis. With any luck though, I can have it ready to go test and tune by July 7th. :nail:
