You need more than just even weight distribution to make it corner. Every mustang I have ever driven handles like a river barge.

Every Mustang you've ever driven must have been over 10 years old and covers a fraction so insignificant as to make comparison worthless.

Thanks and it took me a while to find it as it seemed like everyone was buying up the 7.3's or they were beat to hell. I have had this truck for over two years now and I still love it as much as the day I brought it home.

I'm sure someone on some forum will find one and brag and post pics of it straight from the junkyard, meanwhile I can't find a vehicle newer than 1930 at any of the yards in my area.

15k is too much for any crate motor with OEM internals. I can build a 1000hp 4g63t for 15k.

I think that's why he said to find one in a junkyard, so you don't pay 15K

But I'll take a 1000HP engine with all the trimmings please

I don't think you would like the turbo lag that something that powerful would have coming from me. Spool point is past where your factory tach stops counting.. heh..

Ford sells them for only $6999. I don't know where you got $15k from! And there are places selling them cheaper.

And the handling on my 2011 GT is awesome! They come with the 2010 optional "track pack" suspension with all GTs now. I had an SVT focus before, and have not noticed a huge handling difference unless I am going over rough road and turning hard at the same time. But I have never raced either on a road course. But this guy did!
YouTube - The Falken Azenis RT-615K, How Much Faster Is It?
Same driver, same tires, same course. So there are no excuses! But I had heard that this guy drives 370's professionally for years, so was kinda new to the Stang. Still kicked the 370's butt. HANDLING IS FINE!

it may handle better, but the only problem is it will never corner like a car with irs. im not saying your car dosent handle well, but its just a huge flaw with the mustang... they ever fix it (and im willing to bet they will soon) it will probly be one of the better cars availible...excluding the super cars and such

I'm not arguing with the fact IRS is better for handling, but you can make a SA handle damn close to it. It comes down to the tuning of the suspension. Me personally though I would rather have a SA. It'll handle just fine for what I want it to do, but I have a much better launch off the line. If the SA has such bad handling why do you think they even use it in performance cars? Let alone the mustang? Because the mustang is primarily used for drag racing and IRS is horrible for that. Ford used IRS on the 03/04 cobra and it did good. I highly doubt ford will use just one or the other. Come 2014 when the update happens I wouldn't be surprised if the IRS returns.
