Icon6 have a question

hello all. i found a good deal on a 96 single cab ranger and was wondering something. i saw in JEGS they have an installation kit for $340.00 and it included everything i would "need" to install a 302. is it really a "drop in" project to be done on a 3 day weekend from work (4th of july is coming haha and want to get everything ready). am i overlooking anything? i would like to keep the a/c if possible. i have access to a 302 with a 5 speed tranny. what all would i need to do? thanks and if anyone wants to PM me and let me know MORE info on dropping a 302 carbed or FI into a 2nd gen ranger please feel free too...... thanks

The main things I think you need for the swap are motor mounts, dual sump oil pan, oil filter relocation kit, larger radiator, big hammer. What is the 302 out of? T5 tranny? What type of linkage for the 5 speed, hydraulic, cable? Big difference between Carbed and EFI. If your going fuel injected you'll need the harness and PCM, with a little repinning. A/C will be a PITA to fit but it's do able. I really don't think you'll be able to do the swap in 3 days, you'll need to modify the trans cross member and the drive shaft. You'll have to do alot more research if you want to do the swap, feel free to PM me with questions. BTW a 96 Ranger isn't a gen II.
