v8 going in... tcase question

im using a 97 expo drivetrain into my 97 ranger and i know about the AA kit to run the 1354 case in the truck.... what im trying to avoid is having to tear the trans apart to swap the output, im not concerned about using factory driveshafts since its a 2wd truck going to 4wd im having to make new ones anyway. long and short of it is im reading that the bw 4406 bolts up to the 4r70 but im wanting to avoid the big tcase, ive also heard the bw 1356 out of 150's and broncos will bolt up is there any truth to this and what issues would that swap present

1356, 4406 and 4407 are all comparable in size and will bolt directly to a 4x4 4R70W. Some other full size Ford/Chevy/Chrysler t-cases also use the same 6-bolt bolt pattern and 31-spline input. With cases like the 1356 and 4406/4407, the biggest issue is clearance to the driver side frame rail. If your Ranger is regular cab/short bed, you'll also want to check clearance to the nose of the fuel tank because the size and shape of most F/S cases pushes the main body of the t-case back in the chassis a few inches.
