[CD ERROR] - CD Player Problem

My cd player recognizes there are discs in it. My cd player even knows how many tracks are on those discs.

It will not go to any disc, it will not eject any disc...

All it says is "CD ERROR" and goes to the ever so lame AM/FM...

sounds like you are catching all kinds of problems nowadays. i've never had a stock CD player long enough to have to worry about problems with them. wish i could help you out.

Time to upgrade dude! If you're hung up on 6 discs, then get an older Alpine with Ai-Net and I'll practically give you a alpine changer that will give ya 6 discs...

Everytime I had that problem(6x w/ factory CD player) they just replaced it under warrenty and finally the 7th time it went bad I said screw it and whent aftermarket. You will most likely end up getting a new HU one way or another.

Sounds close to what mine is doing... Takes CD's and plays them fine, moves from slot to slot... just wont eject... and once it won't eject, it won't move anywhere else. Im just getting an aftermarket head unit... im not paying what it costs to get another Pioneer factory 6 disk for the Xploder. You might wanna go that route...

swing it by a dealer and see what they say. I could help you out if it was sticking CDs or wouldn't change them because I've had to take my own changer apart so many times. I don't know anything about the laser though...

My 02 doesn't like a couple of my CDs but it still works otherwise. Seems like you have to be quick to get the disc out after an eject. After about a second it sucks it back in. I have the MP3 single disc unit.

IF you got 40.00 I'll sell you my old kenwood, it just came back from best buy they replaced the cd mechanism, b/c it wasn't playing cd's. The part cost them 127.00 but I had the ext warranty.

Try disconnecting your battery terminals. Wait a couple of minutes and then re-connect. The HU should go through a reset sequence and most likely straighten itself out. Mine does this too. Too bad there isn't a reset function on the unit... messing with the battery sucks.

the optical just went in my jensense deck... i went to the local stero shop and they said that is the common error code that come up for that... my also dose the same thing with ejecting the disc... best bet is to replace it... gonna end up spending more to try and fix it.

About 3 pages back I wondered the same thing.
Check out this link back there and you can get the same info I did. https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=25471
I found out that there is plenty of CD-6 and single units at used carpart yards. About $100-150. I just haven't replaced it yet. Enjoying my Sirius too much anyway since the radio still works.
