ok so i have the factory installed sirius receiver, HU, & harness w/aux port out of my '09 ranger that im re-installing in my '03 SVT F150. the problem is that the harness has another connector that plugs in under the dash(grey plug). not sure what its for, maybe 12v - 5v step down to power the receiver? there are 4 wires from the grey connector that go to the 12pin on the sirius unit

grey w/orange stripe
purple w/orange stripe
green w/red stripe
black w/blue stripe

i have continuity between the black and ground. theres 123 ohms between grey & purple. no readings for green.

any info i can get could be helpful . . .

It might be for the Sat. antenna. i don't think its like the traditional antennas where its just a big cable.

 

no, im sure its not the antenna. most likely a power supply thing. i dont have the ranger anymore or i might have been able to trace it out. unfortunately, im doing a chapter7, so the bank got the ranger now.

pin 5 Sat Rad Signal L+
pin 6 Sat Rad Signal R+
pin 7 MS CAN -
pin 8 not used
pin 9 battery +
pin 10 ground
pin 11 Sat Rad Signal L-
pin 12 Sat Rad Signal R-

so does anyone have a clue what "MS CAN" is?

 

Are you still working on this project? I just joined the forum looking for info on Sirius installs. MS-CAN is Medium Speed Controller Area Network. This is the communication network. I assume there is continuity between this connector, the SAT module and the head unit. I would assume this plug is used to connect other telematic devices into the network, and without other connections you might need a terminating resistor. I have a schematic on order, as I am retrofitting this into my 03 Ranger. Hope to learn from your experience.
