And for those that want to complain about what people say: Get over it. It's the internet. If you post/say something be mature enough to take the good AND the bad. And if you don't like something ignore it. Spouting off about how you don't like it isn't going to change the fact that in a public forum people can speak their mind, pro or con.

It looks good. Congrats on a good install. Personally I think it's retarded to have the TV on while driving but I wont assume that's what you'll be doing. And I also pray that's not what you'll be doing...

Ok, since no one likes "no comment," I will comment.

You're an idiot for mounting a TV in the front of your truck. I can even understand the arguement that its for show only, but you yourself said that you wanted it for long road trips. On long road trips you should be paying attention to THE ROAD, not the TV. Theres a very good reason why that mounting is illegal. I can only hope that you're ticketed judiciously for it until you realize how idiotic it is and remove it.

There, is that better? Thats a comment.

i signed up for this forum cause i really like rangers and talking about them and all the mods that are possible and to talk about something i like. Not to see a bunch of people talking crap back and forth this is supposed to be for entertainment, fun, and help. As for the mod nice job looks nice 7 in monitor really does look big in such a small area.

First off. Nice mod, though I'm sure you'll be extra careful driving when it's down. Covering the rearview mirror is something the police don't like. (They can be odd about things like that). Other than that, I kinda like the idea. Beat's trying to read a GPS map on my 3.5 inch PDA. I'd also like a price on a monitor. My wife would flip to have one in her car. (we take it on long trips).

Second off: That's it! I'm off this board for at least a few weeks. I'm sick of reading irrelevent comments in a TECHNICAL section of the forum. You want to crap on someone's mod, take it elsewhere. No wonder John doesn't post much any more. He's the smart one, and I'm the idiot for hanging around.

first off i would like to say im sorry it took me so long to reply, but ive been in iraq since about 2 weeks after my last post and to be honest with yall this form hasnt really been at the top of my prioity list when i do finally get to use a computer. as for the monitor prices my contact isnt answering his emails at the moment, but ill keep trying.......as for the rest of you guys that cant keep from throwing out your comments or "no comments" im just going to say this i mod my truck for me not for anyone else, i was just throwing up the picture incase anyone else was thinking of adding a flipdown to there truck and wanted help or just wanted to see what size would look good. now for the ones saying they hope i get ticketed and the cops make me remove it............like i said its for gps which by the way is not illegal to have............ and for me watching it on "long trips" its not for me but for the wifey............. after reading the posts on here it kinda makes me wonder why the hell im even over here to protect a bunch of a$$holes that seem to think that there way is the only way to do anything, by the way im lowering my truck 4-6 inchs when i get back im thinking the comments on that one when i post the pictures of that one should at least make 3-4 pages of people saying that "why would you lower a truck" its a waste of a truck to make it drag the ground" o and to the guy that said he hopes i get a ticket he is going to say "i hope you get a ticket for shooting sparks, and i hope they make you raise you truck back up to factory height" one last thing if anything is misspelled its cause ive been up for almost 20 hours and i really need sleep!!

congratulations on the "dumbest comment of the new year award".

i'm sure everyone on these boards more than appreciates that youre fighting for our country. to somehow relate negative feedback you got in an online forum on your lcd install with protecting the freedoms of America is possibly the most childish thing i've seen from a military serviceman.

I'd be interesting in a flip down display. What I need however is one that can be driven with straight VGA output. I'd want it to be at least 640x480, and capable of at least 256 colors, or preferably 16 bit color.

What I want to do is remote mount my laptop for navigation, and have the display for it in visor. I use the USA PhotoMaps software when offroading and the whole laptop in the center is getting to be a bit much at times.

Anyone know of displays that are direct-computer-compatible (not composite) with resolution like that or better? I probably should post a new topic on that, but I figured I'd piggyback here for now just to get an idea. Thanks.

http://www.digitalww.com/ has a pretty good selection. I'm getting an 8" Lilliput touch screen soon to mount in the dash. One VGA input and 1-2 composite inputs I think depending on the model year you get. The Lilliput LCDs are sometimes on Ebay for a better price tho.

Thanks! I haven't done my research, so I was looking for a start. I wasn't even sure if they were available or not.

Shawn, It's great to hear from you again. Glad to hear you are home safe and sound. I want to extend my personal thanks for serving your country. It takes a special person to put themselves in harm's way for the sake of others.

Don't worry about your contact regarding the screens, I can find some here locally. I may also look into the ones John and Stephen are talking about.

Welcome home, stay safe, and enjoy modding your truck.

Sometimes I don't post, George, because if I do I WILL go overboard, lol. I can't always restrain myself, sadly -- but I'm learning a measure of discretion. Pray for me that it increases!

And Shawn, welcome back. Any country contains the best and worst of mankind, that's just the way it is. I personally appreciate you fighting for a country who allows people the right to make dumb comments -- even me at times.

Welcome home and settle in, it's cool -- it's just America!

I'll say a little prayer for both of us, because God knows I could use some restraint at times. Maybe I should follow your example and give fair warning to all those who would use this forum to insult someone's hard work.

Hmm maybe I just did.
