I've had Alpine, Pioneer and Kenwood decks in my vehicles. Alpine has the cleanest sound with the best highs, but often you need to amp the output. Never tried the V-drive models.
Pioneer has the best MOSFET amps for the money. High power with clean midrange and bass that Alpine can't match (yet). Also, their decks are bulletproof in terms of reliability. Alpines have become a tad fragile for my taste. Kenwood decks aren't all that great unless you move up into the high doolar ones. They tend to lose functions as they get older. The build quality just isn't there. There's my two cents. |

if your subs aren't hitting try adjusting your amp. Just cuz the amp settings sounded good with your pioneer doesn't mean they match the alpine. Best bet is to adjust the sensitivity also known as the gain. Guarenteed that headunit will make those speakers pound. If you can hold off till December 17th I will be home and I spend a lot of time in Northeast Md at our other house. Maybe we could meet up and and play with it some more. Or you can do whatever you want with it and we can just go wheeling.
Or hell, give me a call now and maybe I can suggest something. cellie:484.832.5354 |

lol

The reason this doesn't sound as loud is because of the 2 volt pre-outs . I'd bet your pioneer has 4 volt or higher.

Alpines are awsome, ive always backed there products, but when i got my sony i was blown away, it sounded amazing and it did hit harder then the alpine, i wouldnt doubt that the pre outs have more volts. thats one thing if u want bass u gotta find a good deck with good pre out volts, im now running 2 1000watt clarions to two 10" subs and that friggen hits so hard, just put in a jvc picture capability deck, its amazing..looks are amazing and sounds amazing JVC DECK LINK same deck...but pionner is also amazing, every deck i guess has there own values to certain ppl, all comes down to personal preferance
