Why get 8' subs? I bet they will sound like **** if you actually want a good base sound.
On a side note Polk Audio and Rockford Fosgate do make good quality components. I have two alpine Type E's in my truck and for a lower end sub they tear it up.
EDIT: If you are concerned about space just choose the right size box.

to be honest id go with the rockford but as the msrp is 109 id stick with the polk if your going cheap i guess it all depends on where you buy from but to have a good sub that will hit the note id go with the sundown sa 8 they are 400rms and can take a beating for about $135 my buddy hit a 147.8 with 2 of them on a 1500 watt amp but thats beside the point choose what sounds the best product and talk to rockford themselfs about it and also polk audio too

of the two subs that you have posted they would perform very similar and i doubt you would be able to tell the difference between the two. The Rockford might play just a tiny bit lower than the polk and the Polk would possibly play a tiny bit louder then the rockford.
have you looked at the JBL gto804? it has a much higher sensitivity at 91db and significantly more xmax then the rockford or polk. it should perform much better off of the same wattage. it also reportedly has a shorting ring that keeps the impedance from rising as you feed it more power which also keeps the sound quality from diminishing while maximizing the power from your amp.. I own the ten and its taking every bit of the 500 watts rms im giving it even though its rated for 350w its very musical and hard hitting. It easily beat out my ID 10 which cost twice as much. and the build quality is much better too. its in the same price range your looking and its most certainly one of the best deals for your money.
p.s. I just read the reviews of the three subs and they pretty much reflect what I was getting from the specs

The level two's have a sensitivity of 79db! that has to be an all-time low. they have hella excursion but the sensitivity just will not do well to match up with any speakers he is using. the dc's will play very low but will leave a major hole in the sound spectrum. he would need at least 7-8 inch mid-woofers in each door in order to have have it sound right. not every one listens to rap where you only need lows and highs. all other types of music benefit from a good mid bass impact like rock and country. Unless he plans on running over-sized door speakers then a high sensitivity sub like the jbl will suit his needs much better. He would be able to off load some of the mid bass duties from his door speakers to the sub which would allow them to play cleaner and louder.

I'll check them out, and to clarify RangOH is correct.....I am using stock speaker size in all 4 doors, namely RF Punch....and I don't listen to a lot of rap or hip hop, some of the old stuff but mostly 80's hair rock and country. Like I said earlier I don't want to have to take out a second mortgage to buy subs.

I've got an alpine MRP-850 400 rms to each sub. They sound nice and accurate when I'm listening to rock and that kind of stuff but rap or dubstep they can get low and louder that my friends 12 in his car. Hopefully within the next 2 weeks I'm upgrading to 4 8's with an Audioque 2200D amp. It should get pretty loud.
