Attention Leo, Box is almost done!

Almost done dude. Just gotta sand the exterior, run extra glue on the inside to seal it, and oh yeah, cut a hole in it somewhere....

3/4" MDF
I used Polyurethane glue.
The white stuff is wood putty to fill all the screw holes and smooth out some edges.
This is like just an inch smaller than the box I currently use. It has a perfect 45 degree angle which should make the subwoofer make good use of the entire box. Hard to explain, but basically it's a longer box than it is square, and angles are good for bouncing the sound inside the box instead of right back towards the woofer. But mostly it allows you to recline the seat way back.
The picture above shows how it will sit on the little step in the back of the supercabs.

Leo is putting a 12 inch sub in there.
And tonight I finish the sanding. It'll have no more edges, or holes, and after painting it'll look like one solid piece of wood. I'm taking my time on this one, so it'll look tons better than the one I currently use. But mine is still bigger! :)
Note to self, cut out hole: 11 1/16" dia

I had 18"s in my Ranger.
Speakers are linear motors, they move the same distance at the same speed no matter what size they are. Whether the rest of the cone goes with the coil is another question, that's where your accuracy comes in.

He actually had sketches and plans and everything, Michael is shockingly good at this...
He rocks cause its my x-mas present, cause im a poor mexican.
He made one before, but didnt take as much time on.
He has calculations for air space, and what not, he even measured the back of the cab, to build, for my *** to fit right in the truck.
Im glad hes doing it, cause he knows what hes doing.
Michael, again, you rock! I cant wait.

Well it's ready! Just need to finish the hole for the subwoofer and drill a hole for the speaker wire and it's ready. I'll be in Oklahoma this weekend so maybe friday night or any time next week you can pick it up.

I agree my best box was a 5-way bandpass with 4 's in it. The one i have now has the 12's right behind the seats and the 10's facing up. The box is ginormous. it has to weigh about 75 lbs but i had to make the compartments for the 12's huge cause i ported them out. Real low and punchy. but i made the compartments for the 10's real small like so that the high bass would come out. real tight and smooth. its all on the box. make it how u want it, just remember, with bass its go big or go home.
Dave: Its just personal opinion. I have heard 15's and i have heard 8's. 15's are just way to much base... and they seem slower to me... im not an audio guru by any means, i just know what i like. JL 10 w3 is the way for me.
