The Big 3 Upgrade
Good morning everyone,
(At least for my time anyway)
I was curious about the big 3 upgrade to run cleaner power/ more efficient power to my subwoofers that I plan to run in the truck. If anybody could help me to where the exact locations are for the ground to chassis, ground to engine, and any other details for me to complete this step towards my future build that would be amazing.
Also I plan to run a 700 watt RMS CT sounds amp to a cheap sub (Acoustic sub) for now, but later want to bump some 500 watt RMS subwoofer from either CT sounds or Skar. Any suggestion on that with any details i might miss that I should implement would be very helpful as well. Also im new to these forms so more info the better.

My suggestion would be to look into the explorer alternator swap. It'll take you from the factory 95A to 130A and the alternator will come with a Lifetime Warranty if you get it from a Brick and Mortar store. On top of that, just a new power wire from the back of the alternator (with a fuse) to the battery positive. I grounded mine direct to one of the alternator mounting bolts. Then I ran my cab ground all the way back to the amp ( I may be wrong, its been like 12 yrs) I used 1/0 OFC wire for my "big 3". None of this info will do you any good if you have one of the newer rangers. I just realized you don't have listed what year your truck is. Mine was 2005. This advise I'm pretty sure is good all the way up to 2011, but there could always be some other subtle differences in years and motors.
