Box Is Finally Built!!!

well, as i said a few months ago, i was gunna build my box for my 10" L5. and i started on it yesterday and finished it tonite.

its grossed 2.6 cu. ft. with a pretty big port that knocks it back down to 2.25 cubes. im gunna go take some pix of it real quick as the calk drys.

but till then, the front looks like the JL W7 box, but the port comes out the right side in the back. i only have a little bit of it carpeted, i need to go to wal mart tomarrrow or tonite, whenever and get some black or dark gray cloth. any tips on how to wrap it?

ok, here it be:

That looks more like my custom home stereo enclosure. Its HUGE. Maybe its the picture but that doesnt look like it would fit in your truck.

You've made it too big. It's not gonna perform how you like with that much space.

those L5 10's have a max. vented volume of 2.25 cubic feet.

i think it will beat hard. i build all my boxes to the max volume, and they are always loud. 2.25 ft isnt too big for it.

it is built to 2.25. its only 30" wide, 15" tall, and 16" deep. its gunna go in my bed room for about 3 months until i get my license back. its ghetto but i know, but i hooked it up and it deffinatly hits hard. i took the amp out of my little 8" jensen powered sub amp, that only pushes 100 watts rms at 4 ohms. and hooked it up to the kicker, and it does some damage, makes almost everything in the house vibrate.

it fits in the cab, just gotta prop it up on top of the x cabs hump. im gunna carpet it soon, or whenever i can get some one to take me to wally world. i can't wait it hear it in the truck tho. after hearing it in my room off only 100 watts, being in the little truck off 400 rms....i can't wait

but it would beat much harder and have better SQ if you were closer to the middle range

no, not yet, my truck is at my dads house, which is like 5 miles away from my gramma's, where im living. im gunna use it for my house surround sound sub for now until i get my license back on Nov. 5th. i know its gunna fit. i measured it up a number of times. my original plan was to make a huge box that took up the whole lower X cab for 2 12s. but i don't have the money for subs and amps and all that. so i just went with this one...

1.) It's only going to sound as good as the woofer. Get rid of that pile.
2.) That'll fit fine in an extended cab.

Evan, that is forkin huge!!!

for now, im gunna be using a pile of shat volvenhag 2 channel bridgable amp. supposedly it pumps out 400 watts rms. but even if it realy is only 200, i'll be happy. i want to get a 420watt rms 2 channel audiobahn amp for it that will match (in looks) my 4 chan A-bahn amp.
