CD6 Warranty Void...When?

Long time no visit, trust me I am pissed off about it. School has been kicking my rear pretty nicely....anyways to my question:

I have an 03 Ford Ranger FX4, with a stock 6 CD Head Unit..> It has been acting up lately, saying that it has a CD error, and it wont let me take out any cds or eject cds...anyways, I am going to take it into the dealer to get it replaced, but I have subs hooked up to it, does that void the warranty on the CD player? - - I guess I always could pull out the head unit, pull the wires, take it in, have them replace it, and just put the wires back in...right? Or does it really matter?

Anyways, thanks a lot, and I hope I can visit asap (I have been doing like 3 hours of homework a night (brutal)

Thanks

ah man pull those wires out or else they'll say warraty void

hell if it was me, and this is what i did, i'd pull the thing out and buy an aftermarket deck with mp3 capabilities: better sound, better quality, and it'll play more music

They cannot just void your warranty because you have aftermarket items installed in your truck.....Federal Law....They need to PROVE that what you did CAUSED the issue...Key word being PROVE!

I will just pull the wires to be on the safe side, they might try to say that my subs shorted it out or something stupid like that.

About an aftermarket head unit: I will eventually do that to get higher quality sound, but for now I am fine with a stock head unit--plus in the future if I want to sell the ranger I would like a working stock headunit to ship off with it--But that is just me

Thanks for your help guys

Remanufatured items are not always bad items, you work at best buy right? half there stuff is remanufactured, its the same thing as an open boxed item.

your joking right? some open items are remanufactured. Frys electronics stuff is 90 percent reman. Are stuff is sealed brand new in the box. Sorry nice try though. And yes Remanufactured amps and cd players will most likely break again for the same problem.

Remanufactured items are usually alot better, as they are tested after being remanufactured

Alright, so pull the wires is the concensus?

On a different note, a tangent, my iPod busted about a year ago, so I sent it in, and got a remanufactured one back in the mail...Havent had a problem with it yet, so reman is probably different from item to idem, and from manufacturer to manufacturer--in the sense of stores selling remanufactured goods, I would guess that they would have to (legally) state that the product is a reman...and not charge you full brand new price. But that is just speculation.

Thanks guys,

--Jamison

Ford does replace radios with reman units, although lately I've had more new-from-the-manufacturer (*cough*DELPHI*cough*) go bad than remans.
