Alrighty guys. New Project Design. I need some help. Im trying to build a new box that will house a 8'' L7 and double as the arm rest and cupholders. Check out the designs.

Ported Box Idea (I have heard these respond well to ported enclosures)


With all that said this is my very first box ever. Not sure on the porting tuning and such. I dont know all the technical things involved with building an enclosure but i am willing to learn. I know how to wire up systems and tune with the way it sounds. I know that is bad but i normally have a friend of mine tune it if it needs to be tuned. Please dont get all aggressive with throwing technical words out there lol im in a very long learning curve here.

So, with help which way should i go? If i do a port what size (length width and depth) should i go. The 18x12 rectangle will be seperate from the cup holders. So it will be a rectangular box, and the front added on after. help away! ill be here reading and trying to understand!
