Has anyone had good or bad luck with Clarion products? I am now in the market for a new subwoofer being as i toasted my pioneer on the way home today. I found SHALLOW clarion 10s for 67 each. SOOO i was thinking bout getting one now to test em out and then perhaps ordering a second and building a fiberglass box.

 

I used to work at best buy in car audio. I was never a fan of em, kind of a lower end brand. A lot of people use em tho, so they have to be doing something right. The price makes it hard to pass up also, probly why. If it were me, I'd save the extra money and get good subs, like Infinity or Alpine. Just my .02

 

unfortunetly there are only a hand full of companies that make shallow mounts. my last set up was a single pioneer shallow 10, sounded good but didnt really hold up. Supposidly the pioneer was 300w rms and 1000w max, im running an alpine mrp-500 which shold max at like 850 so yeah ..

 

Ah, you want a shallow mount, missed that part. Guessing you have a regular cab truck then. Guess there aren't too many choices, as you said. You could always turn the amp down a notch or 2, so you're not blowing so much power into a weaker sub. But for 67 bucks, I guess you're not out too much money if it sounds bad or blows out on ya.
