Custom sub box question

I have a custom ported sub box that I don't know the volume of. I currently have an Eclipse 10" sub (don't know the model #).

My question is can you put any sub into a custom box or does a new box need to be built to match the specs? I know subs can be tuned so I didn't know if they could be tuned for different airspaces.

Here is a picture of my sub box

Subs aren't tuned, boxes are. So yes, you would have to modify your current box or build a new one if the specs don't match.

Gotcha. I was just curious, I'm starting to think about my next sub/amp combo and what my box should look like

First thing is to figure out how much airspace you have to work with, then pick a setup.

I picked up a shallow Kenwood XCELLON 10" Sub. perfect for a ranger. The box is built to the smallest specs of a sealed box, but can be put right where your tire jack goes. I carry a tool box in the back anyway so I was able to save my seats without losing much space if any at all.

I am using an old Kenwood amp to power it, just had it kicking around but the sub pounds!!! Enough to make everything in the cab vibrate uncontrollably...The amp i think is a about a 400, but although its old it was a high end amp in its day. We installed the amp under the driver seat. (It's the least used by passengers.

I'll be doing a post in a sec with a few more. I keep forgetting to take pics now that I added the grill and have cleaned up the amp a bit.

Oh the amp is a bit heavy for the to stay up on its own so we hooked up a strap that clasps when it is up.
