I was at work and had an impulse buy. My manager gave me an open item 10 inch type E alpine sub for 40 bucks which is a steal. Then i got the alpine mrv-350 mono amp which was 115 then the box for 27. It pounds more than enough in the cab almost to much. I love how it can pick up all the low freq. Ill get some pics up of the install i didnt do anything fancy i got it done it 45min. All in all it was under 200 bucks which was nice and its high quality.

where do you work? i ws thinking of getting my friend a type E but i just went to circuit city and got a L5 in a box that was on sale he is sassyfied, but now i want to buy some of those comps that are buy 1 get 1 free from kicker and play with them dont really know but my nshop has 8s for 35 10s for 40 and 12 for 45 so its a good deal to me

thats to hard to hook someone up with....theyll know it aint for me considering i am a senior installer and i work in that department they would know it aint in my truck and i would be missing a job

alpine is Decent i think....Headunits good, components good...

but dont think to high on there subs...and amps

 

long story short... my buddy had 2 JL 10's, and ended up buying 1 alpine type S 12". the 1 type S absolutely POUNDS THE CRAP OUTTA THE 2 JLS!

i'm runnin 2 10" type s subs, in a ported box....mmm....very nice stuff

 

type Rs are nice have been knows to hit higher #s than type Xs, i might just sell my XXX and get 2... j/kl dont know much about the S although it should be decent
