Is HD Radio really that good?

So I need a new head unit in my truck. I've done all of my own installs and such. I've heard a lot about HD Radio? Is there another reciever that comes with the unit that will be the HD Radio (basically like a big antenna? I think it looks like another head unit, but its hidden somewhere)

Does anybody have HD Radio??? LIkes / Dislikes

The two units I'm looking at are:

Alpine 9856
Kenwood Excelon KDC-X590

I need 3 Aux outputs / HD Radio?? (possibly) / Ipod Capabilities.

Does anybody have any suggestions???

No HD radio is something different. You dont need a subscription and it's not satalite. Read this...

Most head units are HD radio READY. U will need to buy the HD radio transmitter and reciver. I have the same Alpine and the Kenwood will also need this. its like 200 dollars. so needless to say sattelite radio is about the same in clarity if not less the HD but its still not CD quality. MAKE MP3 CDs.

save the money you'd spend buying the HD box and get a Sirius subscription... much better content, less commercials and crap.

Sirius + Ipod is the way to go IMO. I don't think I've listened to FM at all since I got both of those along with my Alpine head unit that controls both of them by itself and charges the Ipod while it's being used. All thats on FM is retarded morning shows and commercials and I don't have any desire to hear that in a clearer HD form.
