Those are probably the only Amps I would look at. If these were to power a subwoofer(s), I would go with one 15" dual 2-ohm VC sub or (2) 12" single 2ohm vc subs. If you build or buy the box, make sure, if you get (2) 12" subs, that the box has (2) sealed enclosures instead of one big box. there's really no difference in the two, but the subs will be working against eachother in the one big box, and won't be as loud.

I believe the (2) 12" subs will have a bigger surface area which will bring out the lower frequencies more, even though most music doesn't go below 35hz, but it's nice to know that your system can handle 20hz and below. Decible-wise, (1) sub with 600W will mathematically be 3dB quieter than (2) subs with 300W each; somebody check my math.

Personally I would get one High efficiency 15" subwoofer as space might not be a problem in an explorer ---to a certain extent--- a 25ft3 box is too big for just about any vehicle... Depending on the subwoofer, anyhting from about 1ft3 to 3ft3 should be large enough.

Power your subs with just a little bit more than what the RMS rating is.

 

i usually tell people that arnt to hip with car audio to gat an amp a little less than rms because they are probably going to crank the bass boost and gain and everything th HU has on it

Otherwise, overpower-->adjust gain-->tune bass boost

i 2nd that, because i dont think the MT would like 4000rms+ daily, it might though


i dont play with bass boost, my amps add it at ~45 hz and the MT is peaky
enough as it is already

for JL its about 630 or 650rms for that amp i believe, they are under rated
