$5600 for 2 subs and an amp????? Too much! It probably sounds like crap because the box may have too much or too little volume for the subs.

well 5600 for for the two subs and to 1000 watt alpine amps and got the resdt of the truck done too but the bow is ported and when i heard a jl w7 in one of those HO boxes i thought i would get 2 and it would be the best but would the box really make that much different ?

Ok installed. I though jsut for the subs and amp.

If the box is too small the subs wont have enough room to work. If the box is too big then the subs wont have enough power to work the whole box area.

take it back jesus.... man the alpine 1000 watt amp is 329$ brand *** new from an audio store and the w7 10s are like 400$ each.... http://www.amazon.com/JL-AUDIO-10W7-...1975533&sr=8-2 uhm you need most likely a bigger box and that alpine amp is very weak for the subs make sure its the right ohm to.... ive got 2 15 inch kicker L7 and 2 1000 watt kicker amps in the back of my FJ did all the work myself and it cost me 1000$ and if i turn it all the way up you cannot stay in the car i mean you just cant... each box has 6 feet of cubic air and ported to 38 hertz... you must have alot of money because 5600 can put you in a setup from the gods. i over did my system by a mile with 5600 you could do like 10 L7 15s.... or 8 JL w7 13.5s.... both of which would make you deaf nearly instantly and maybe kill you?! [jk on the kill part! well maybe...] you'd have to buy a bunch of alternator tho...

a ranger doesnt have enuff airspace for two W7's I saw a kid with one 10inch W7 in an S10 out in Havasu n he had to port his truck n raise the floor of his bed so he could get the space he needed for it. plus 5600 for two 10 inchsubs and an amp! screw that!

this is the amp RMS Power @ 4 ohms: 600W x 1 (1% THD)
RMS Power @ 2 ohms: 1000W x 1

and this is the sub Sensitivity: 84.3 dB
RMS Power Range : 500 Watts
Peak Power Handling: 1000 Watts
Impedance: 3 Ohm
Diameter: 10

how do you know if your ohms are set right

I'd be glad to re-do the box/install PROPERLY for a mere $3000.

I hope for $5600 the box & amp are 24k gold & they included a "chesty blonde" to ride with you at all times.

W7 10's retail for $700 and anyone who pays more than $550 at a shop is nuts.

You can get them wholesale with a non JL warranty for $450. Dealer price is in the high 3's IIRC.

Two of those, $1100.

That alpine amp is MSRP of $800. A dealer will let it go for $600-$700.

So that brings the tab to $1800.

Add in installation materials, head unit, who knows what speakers, etc... and that sort of bill can ring up if he just walked in and got suckered.

first of all, why the hell jl??? you would have been better off to go with JBL or good old MMats. the second place the box from looks of it is WAY to big, and only having a 1000 watts going to it is seriously underpowering those subs, get a bigger amp and reduce the size of the box it will make a world of a difference. also this is going to sound stupid, but check the gauge of the wiring going from the power and the speaker wire, if it is not big enough that also robs power going to the subs, a lot of people over look that when it is one simple yet needful thing to get all the power of the amp

why JL? go with JBL? are you serious?
its called quality JL would beat out JBL anyday of the year anywhere anything if you can buy it at walmart its NOT that great of a brand!!!
back to the subs
5600 for 2 tens and 2 amps? and install
OMG
my boss is a JL dealer and a professional installer
5600 could get you a 13w7 and jl mids and amps easy
you need to take it back and get your money back ASAP

JBL is good stuff. JL is good stuff but over priced.

JL W7 10's only take like 500w RMS. Two on a 1000w is about their max power range for normal use.
