Discreet/space-saving sub enclosures/locations

Who has them?

I should have just done this 7 months ago when I replaced the head unit & 4 door speakers, instead of trying to be conservative and "mature", but I didn't, and since them I've been kicking myself. I like to raise hell and crank my shyt too loud to be operating off just a head unit.

The only thing is, I don't want to sacrifice floor/cargo space because I use the space cab to haul stuff (computers for work when I don't feel like checking out a state car, gym bag, my daughter's bat bag and softball equipment, etc, etc).

I know there are slim speakers and I've thought about getting one to put under my seat (and an amp under the passenger seat; or a sub under each seat and another location for the amp), and I know there are center consoles with smaller (6"?) subs that can be swapped in. I just wondered what other options there were to get some decent sound without giving up space.

It doesn't have to be unbelievable bass, as I listen primarily to country (of the hell-raising variety) with a little heavy, hard rock (Pantera, Metallica, Static-X, etc), but also the occasional audiobook and/or podcast. So I'm more concerned with sound quality and getting loud than I am 'bump'.

Anyone have pictures of space-saving installs in their (supercab) Rangers?

im running a prebuilt jl audio sub/amp/box combo behind the passenger seat. its about 1 cubic foot.

i've been pondering the infinity basslink setups under each seat but not sure if they'll clear everything haha

This is what I have. Moved the jack to the tool box. 8" JL running on an Alpine 4 ch amp. Works great for me.

I was hoping to keep them out of the way/hidden, just so I don't damage them with stuff moving around in the cab, but I forgot about application-specific/molded enclosures. Thanks!

Randy, how did you like the Thunderform enclosure? That's the 2 down-firing MTX 10s, right? Do you happen to have any pictures of how it looked in your truck, so I could see how much space it actually takes up? How was the sound quality?

Here's my setup. Not sure it's what you want, but it keeps the back relatively clear.

i started a thread asking about now much cubic space i'd need for a 10" and if i needed clearance between the sub and the box. i didn't get any responses.

i think any of us putting in a system that just has a little kick doesn't wanna sacrifice space. i realize some will be lost but i'd like to try and minimize that amount.

BRAIN: that is a nice setup and functional. dd you do a write up or do you have a build thread of it somewhere?

Thanks. I didn't do a write up when I built the box; however, it wasn't that tough to build. It is completely built out of MDF, used the jack cover as a template. Bondo and sand paper works wonders. You could build it to fit a 10", just make it a little taller.

It's an Alpine F-300 4 channel amp. With the seat all the way back you can't see it. I'll get some photos later.

Alright I would appreciate it because I’m thinking of running a similar setup but couldn’t find a place for the amp to fit.

Thread revival... I can't seem to get into the article that is referenced everywhere regarding subs behind the rear jump seats in the jack space areas. I get a permission denied error. Any idea where to read more about the info in the following link? https://www.ranger-forums.com/staff-recycle-bin-47/how-build-sub-enclosure-jumpseat-cavity-53366/

You may want to try sending him a PM. He hasn't been on in a year and a half so if you do it might make it to his email!
