how do you get a 14.4v system
usually you don't try to get one. some cars do have a higher charge voltage, but most don't. rangers have 13.8v charging systems give or take.

Most all amp manufactures will fudge the numbers on their amps to appeal to consumers. The higher the wattage number that they can plaster on the amp the more they sell.
Which is why you always see things rated at 2ohms, 14.4+ volts, And the most worthless number of all MAX power. An amp will never put out the max rating (unless its is on fire) RMS power is overrated figure too. On top of that those numbers are derived on test resistance which is much different from the variable resistance of a actual speaker. basically every number is cleverly fudged one way or another.

Power output rating are so skewed these days its important to buy more power then you need.
Thats why buying an amp at double the speakers rated power is a good idea.

Breaking-in is not something that needs to be done.. just run the speakers normally the suspension will naturally loosen up. no need for silly break-in procedures.

well said john.

Ive always been a bit easier on brand new subs. But ive heard the best way is play a wide range of music to get the sub loosened up.

Spend some real money. Rockford's where it is at. but Alpine has some good stuff.
my sub - Rockford Fosgate P1s810. 8 ohm, single voice coil over. can be mounted either way (hence i have it backwards technically facing the floor) doesn't take a ton of power to run, together with MTX RFL series amp. (350 wats 4- ohm) defiantly hits harder then those alpines (when i have it up past 3 of 5 on my ****)

Yeah good luck with the Hifonics, I have a hifonics amp that I bought about 23 years ago and back then they were awesome, but after they sold out to Maxxsonics it is my understanding the quality went downhill.
