Going on specs I'd get the Kicker. The Kicker unit will produce lower notes than the Alpine unit and the Kicker unit is also a tad louder. You can't go wrong on either though. Just make sure you get the correct box for the one you get.

Alpine has better SQ Then kicker but kicker has a higher SPL. Depends what you want. I have 12" Type S in my fiddy under the rear seat. Its sounds good.

Are you just going to run a wedge box or a custom one?

Well like I said. You can't go wrong with either. Both are great subs.

ive had both but in 12s. Blew out my CVR, then blew out my Type S, now I have a type R. They are very very similar in quailty and sound and I would really just go with whatever one you can get for cheaper.

Love my cvr12-2! Four years of use and abuse and it's still kickin' and sounding awesome.

Ive had both in 10s and I prefer the sound of the CVR, plus it is not as deep of a magnet, and it lasted me 3+ years with no problems.

they can hit hard, but they also hit solid and sound good with all types of music.
