looking for amp advice.

i am working on a new box for two 8" RE-X8D4's. i currently have an ALPINE MRP-350 which is more then enough power just dont think its gonna like the load..being as i have only had mono amps and single subs in the past i need some help. so i am looking for a new amp - looking for something that will power both RE's and is relatively inexpensive. so if anyone has any suggestion as to what size amp (wattage/channels) or what particular amp i should run please lemme know! thanks in advance!

The subs are 175w RMS and 300w Max
dual 4ohm voice coil

if you need any more info please let me know.

aslo i have a plan for a sealed box, but if anyone knows about slotted ports and would like to help me out with my design let me know.

basically what i want to do if fill the entire back of my reg cab (funny almost sounds like i was talking about a decent amount of space). I really dont want to do a center console right now being as its my daily and what not. anyway, i have everything drawn up for a sealed box which would be right at 1 cube.

according to RE in a ported box, minimum is .37 and optimum is .5, so after porting it will i have enough airspace to sound decent?? or should i just roll with the sealed box?... or i could say screw it and ditch my rear 5x7's and make it a straight box all the way across which would give me about 1.36

damn the choices.. haha thanks in advance man.. also if i do port them, RE says 37HZ..

first i need two dimmensions that cannot be changed, like what is the max length or width or highth. i need two and the third will be a variable. im thinking .75 @ 33 hz. (re says 35 not 37:))

my bad.. ok so here are the demensions.. i will be doing the back of the cab, would like to keep my 5x7s for now ..
Top 31" centered
Bottom 50"
Heigth 11"
TD 5"
BD 8"
To step under the 5x7s it would be up 5" over 10" then up 6"

I would have to say get a beefier amp... even though that is a well built amp.
The next size up would be best.
Id recommend the MB Quart DSC2150 (among many others) that way you can be sure your getting the full potential of your subs. Especially if you do run it in a sealed box.
Other wise your going to be cranking the gains and clipping the smaller amp. (bad for subs and amp)

Yes, I know im recommending 300w rms for a 175w rms sub. Your gain control will be kept low. Allowing your sub to hit its peak excursion. instead of hitting your amps peak output will sound much better..
Amps do not put out their rated power constantly like most people think.

BTW.. The load issue. you have DVC subs you can wire each sub in series to get a 8 ohm load from each. then put your two 8 ohm subs in parallel to give you a 4 ohm load.
..or wire each sub to 2ohms then wire them in series that will also give you a 4ohm load total..

Thats why they make DVC subs... not for torturing your amps but to give you options in wiring like you need right now...

your mrp-f350 just can't produce the wattage you need. so id still upgrade the amp..but you could run them under powered at 100w a piece as long as your respectful of the gains.

i have a single cab and made a box that can hold either 2 10's or one 12. it has 2.6 cu ft which is plenty, but i had to scoot my seats up a bit

Answer, cool man im really thinking that one well ported RE should sound pretty good.. i figure that with one you can fit that in the cab center which would be 31" wide 11" high 5" td and 8" bd.

Coleary, ive been there before.. ive had a p210 in my truck, didnt like the discomfort.. also being as this is my daily i put a ton of miles on it so comfort is priority 1
