okay, well I just bought a brand new Sony Walkman MP3 player and I was wanting to be able to play it in my truck through the speakers. I've looked through FM transmitters and can't find one with the right cable/plug, everything is made for an ipod or similar and I'm not even sure if I want to use an FM transmitter anyway. Any help?
I've got the Mach mp3 setup in my truck btw....
If only I could wire it up directly to my stereo with the USB cable like I see in so many other vehicles...

Or should I just get a new radio that has a USB jack?

 

an FM transmitter is asimple setup. You plug it into your lighter and a simple eight inch cord plugs into your mp3 player. Then you pick up the radio station right in your headunit. If you are looking to get a proper setup for plugging a USB or eight inch jack into your unit.. You will have to look at yoru manual an dmake sure it has auxilarry inputs on the rear, and then buy the proper adapter for that headunit.

 

thanks, but that's the thing I can't find a transmitter that will plug into my mp3 player.
I'll look into checking for an aux. port

 

I-River has a fm transmitter. model# AFT100, that connects to your mp3 player thru the earphone jack. It gets it's power from the truck's cigarette lighter or power plug and it is adjustable to transmit thru the entire FM band so you can find a freq that works best in your area. It works great for me.
