Well guys, i picked up 2 cerwin vega vmax 15" subs last nite. I got them at a pretty good deal. They are in 2 separate boxes that are about 2.2 cb ft. each. So now the building and stuff begins. :) Tonite im going to hook them up to a crossfire 600d amp just for temporary use so i can hear them until i get my new amp. I will try to get them on a meter this weekend with just the 600watt amp. Heres some pics of the subs in the old boxes.

I no the boxes look kinda bad but the subs are good. I just need to clean them up a bit.

Dude, your truck is gonna fall apart.

Awesome man.

rinconmanof90 11-14-2008 01:22 PM

LOL. Im getting a crossfire vr1000d amp in a few weeks and im gona build a bigger box and redo all my wiring to 0 gauge with 8 gauge speaker wire. I will post pics of the build and install of the new box and amp.

Trigger01 11-14-2008 05:31 PM

Bigger than I prefer, but I bet it sounds real good.

ColdNapalm 11-14-2008 08:43 PM

NICE im going 2 15"s to but instead of having the speakers on the top i was thinking of putting them on the inside walls and having 2 box's like yours that way i could set stuff ontop of the box's and no one could see them is that plenty of space? like the perfect amount? and whats the rms of those subs? more pics :D

Edit do you have like a platform under the box's with your amp and all the goodies ect? because it looks like if you put the amp and stuff else where you could drop the box's like 6+ inches and be able to lean your seat back much further.

JRacer 11-14-2008 09:01 PM

im kinda thinkin about sellin my system. Ive easily got the hardest hitting subs at my school but i just kind of get tired of them after a while. And i want to be able to lean my seat back more. idk how they are so loud b/c a lot of websites dog on the boss subs so bad. But, on another note, i built the box to the air space needed. most people just go pay an audio shop a $100 for something that will fit good in their truck.

What happened to your other 2 15"s?

timpat92855 11-15-2008 10:11 AM

i had one L5 10 in a kicker vented box with a small 200x2 amp bridged and it would run you outta my truck. I had the loudest system at school til i sold it. I dont see how yall stay in there with 2 15s.

JRacer 11-15-2008 10:16 AM

So are you gonna build them a new box or just clean up the old one?

rinconmanof90 11-15-2008 10:54 AM

I sold my other 15s. Im gona build a new box for these 15s. These subs have like 600 watts rms and 1200 max. I have a sub floor under the speakers and my amp and stuff is under it. I hooked them up last nite to a crossfire 600d amp and they pound louder than my other 15s with the 1200d.

XeRo 11-15-2008 11:05 AM

I had two type X 12's running 850 watts each. LOVED it.

is that a lagacy amp? just curious

slammin 11-16-2008 09:16 AM

i have heard those v max subs. they have a nice clean sound

JRacer 11-16-2008 10:10 AM

nah. its a lanzar max.

rinconmanof90 11-16-2008 10:15 AM

The Vmaxs sound good and are loud. They are loud now on the 600 watt amp and they are in too small of box so i can only imagine what they will be like with the 1000d and bigger box.

Now i have to flush mount the subs, run the wire out the back, and put black carpet on it and im done with the box.

jaycheetwood 11-27-2008 12:29 PM

2 15"s seems like a little much for a ranger gees.. well guess you got a nice single cab now ;)

Melt 11-27-2008 08:21 PM

i got 2 10s in mine just brought em over from my integra and still have plenty of room to put **** in the xcab and can lean the seat back pretty far

rinconmanof90 11-27-2008 08:39 PM

Yea i was gonna get 2 10s so i can have some room, but i decided i wanted loud bass and maybe do some competitions so i didnt care if i lost the back seat.

timpat92855 11-28-2008 08:42 AM

15s are awesome. If you ever want to get some room back, 2 l7 12s. Buddy has 3 and 2 1900rms jbl amps. You can here him at my house from his house. Its 4.6 miles away.

rinconmanof90 11-29-2008 04:22 PM

Well guys, heres a vid i took today of the subs. My speakers dont work on my computer so i have no clue how it sounds. Let me know what yall think. If its bad, ill delete it.
