Ok well to make things short and sweet Im torn between 3 sterios. The Kenwoods are better than the pioneer, but pioneer has a better display. You have to look at the facts instead of what you always get. I mean i want to try a kenwood but than again i dont because i have neer owned onwe. Heard alot of good thing about em tho.

I've had issues with Kenwood equipment, and none with Pioneer. In the long run, I'd always direct people towards Pioneer's products.

if you get one get the premier, not the pioneer

i wonder if these have the RCA ground issues?

also you could try clarion, they make some nice HU's, you could ge tthe dxz855 or maybe even the 955 for the price of those almost, touch screen, can record songs direct to the deck from a cd, i had a premier 860 befor ehte clarion and i would take the clarion over the 860, i get a ton of "cools" and "wows" and all that from the clarion, touch screen gets them, touch screen is the shiz

Buy em all at once, you know you're gonna switch to a new one in 2 months anyhow, why not have them in stock?

I think I would go with the Pioneer. I have had 2 Pioneers and I like both of them on the other hand the first Kenwood(KDC-X990) look best appearance wise, imo.

Yuck, I hate that center control on the 9800. I guess I'm just old school pioneer though. The only trouble I've ever had with any pioneer is the one I have now(deh-8600mp). It's about a year old now and refuses to spit the cd's out more than like an inch. I have to flick it with my finger then it ejects the rest of the way out. A common problem on heavily used newer gens, damn it get your **** together pioneer!!

Pioneer, Eclipse, and Alpine FTW.

On the 860MP you can run front active, on the eclipse you can run FULL active IIRC, and the alpine has 2 models you can run full active also....pretty nice if you ask me.

I don't like kenwood the only one I ever had got so hot on the amp in the back it started melting my wires and shorted all kinds of crap, then when im puling it out the back was so hot it burnt my hand.. I have seen some very nice looking kenwoods but after that I won't buy one. Alpine, Clarion, or Eclipse.

although they're not as great as their ~03 or 04' model years, they're still much better than lots mentioned in this thread, lol.
