Options for adding amp to stock system
Options for adding amp to stock system
Trying to clear out some out boxes which just so happens to be my old stereo equipment. Figure I'll throw it into the wife's accord. It'll be a 12" sub, and ~1000w RMS amp. She does not want to get rid of the stock cd changer, so I need a good line level converter. I also heard about JL's clean sweep products. Can anyone recommend a good quality solution?
JL's clean sweep products are nice if you want to keep you factory head unit and add a amp. Audio Control also makes a LC8 thats does the same thing and is about the same price. The only thing about both of these products is that you might have to run a amp for the door speakers and for the sub because they take you factory speaker outputs and turn them into RCA's outputs. Both of them are designed for the person who doesn't want to lose their factory controls but want a high end system. So for the money these things cost I would just buy a cheap line level converter and use the rear speaker channels.
I just want to add a subwoofer and mono amp, and will be building a box. And yes, maintining factory looks and factory head is a requirement.
Any installers recommend a trusted converter? Clean sweep seems way to pricey now (250 or more). And I don't want to spend more than $100 on this.
How about:

Yeah, I'm thinking this one:

Only 15 bucks shipped, so I won't feel to bad if it is junk. But won't order a thing until I check with the local shops.
I also won't lose any speakers. I'll just tap into the current wiring.
