i decided to go with a direct drop in speaker instead of messing with making brackets for components and such. picked up 2 pairs of JL TR series 5x7. im gonna hook em up tomorrow off the headunit and in about a week or so ill have em hooked up to my eclipse ea4322 4ch amp and have a single 10" in a ported box that i have layin around. 2k miles on the truck and the whole stereo is already changed out. ha im gonnna put on an aftermarket muffler in 2weeks when i get back to my moms house ha. my truck will be built before i even go in for the 30k miles tune up haha

same with mine. all my extra money is going in to my truck. my audio and exhaust is done with only 2 grand on my engine.

thanks, since im gonna be spending the majority of my money for the suspension(about 6-7gs worth :( ) i decided to get the best sounding direct swap speakers and hook em up to my amp later and then huck a 10 or 12" sub back there that i already have and call it a day. i would love to have a pair of the w3v3 10s ha but they wanted 250 each for em at the shop i went to ha.
i snap some pics while im installing it all. i want to get some dynamat layed down on the back of the door soon after too. its THIN!

 

i got the front pair put in today, theres a little gap around the speaker but once i dynamat the door it will fill the gap no problem. just running off the headunit its sooo crisp! and has a nice punch too!
i cant wait to get them installed to my amp and then they will scream!
so i will reccomend the JL TR5x7s to anyone, hands down. and they are fairly reasonable too. i picked up both pairs for right around 325, from a local dealer so i know they jacked the price up, so im sure you could get a set off ebay for probally around 250 for both maybe?
