Meaning I just use the remote. Its much easier than holding your arm out looking for the radio station. You can preset them ont the remote.

Do you have to hold the remote right infront of the radio for it to pick the signal up, or what?

lol no. i just hold it on my arm rest and jus go at it. you can sit in the back of the cab and it will still work.

do you have to point it at the radio, or can you aim it anywhere it it will still work?

You have to kinda point in in the direction of the head unit. But not directly.
