Not trying to be an A-Hole here but there are a few Threads on this subject, do a search and read up on them.

I was thinking the same thing as you, all in one sub right, nice idea and because I have a Std Cab the extra amp was going to get in the way.
I looked at a few on line, went to Stores and listened to some but decided to run a shallow sub with minimum closed box. Box is small enough to fit behind the seats; now I need to decide on what side of the truck or in the middle.
This decision is not based on knowledge but just "I liked the sound of the shallow sub better".

Search and read.

Luck on your decision.

powered subwoofers are ideal in home theater systems but won't put much out in a vehicle.

I got two Polk 8'' powered down firing subs in the house. They shake the house.

The Bazooka base tubes are probably the most popular because they are cheap and y easy to hook up. They do however sound eh. I wouldn't buy one if your looking for rich, deep base. They just don't have the size or power to hit low. Like said above, a shallow mount sub in a small sealed enclosure would be best.
