I wouldn't personally go with any of those.

Pioneer
Rockford fosgate
Kicker
Presicion Power Industires (PPI) (amp only)
Power Acoustick (amp only)
infinity
JL

those are the ones I'd put at the top of my list.

For the most part i agree with Q. However Diamond Audio is pretty much one of the leaders in car audio...and you definitely pay for it...

I say personally

Pioneer Premier or JVC Arsenal HU
JBL GTI Subs
Denon Component setup
Kicker Amp

Diamond Audio Speakers ?

MTX Amps and Speakers 18

Alpha Sonic Speakers ?

Adiobahn Speakers? 13

The biggest problem with a question like this, is that you're always gonna get fan boys saying what they happen to own is the best. Just remember that if you limit yourself to a brand you are seriously limiting your options. Also almost all brands offer economy lines and premium equipment lines. Take MTX and Audiobahn for example. I wouldn't buy any of their "cheap" stuff for anything, But their upper end items are worth while.

Also, nothing beats personal experience/test drives at the local stereo shop.

Best speakers in my opinion are Boston Acoustics. I listened to them side by side with Rockfords, Alpines, and Infinities.....the Bostons were definetely the most well rounded speakers. An amp for subs....I like the JBL amps although you might want to check out Hi-fonics, they actually make a nice amp.

I got Phoenix Gold....and I think it sounds fine

Alpine---HU
Diamond, like already said, is some of the top of the line stuff (my opinion)

Personally I have had great Experiences with MTX Thunder series Amps. So I have a 4 Channel 500 Series to run my Front and Rear Speakers and an MTX 282 2 Channel to run my Subs.

I opted for Road Thunder Subs to start out with because I got the cheap ($60 for a NEW Pair). I am mouting them in a Q form Slot ported Box... Will upgrade these later.

I got Q Form Kicks, and they came with Diamond Audio Components with 5-1/4" woofer. I got this set up for only $200. (Never Used Diamond Audio before but heard very good things about them)

I am trying to decided on the 4X10's for the rear fill. So the reason why I was asking is audiobahn makes a speaker that looks high quality. (Unsure-never used audiobahn). Pioneer makes a crap set, and I saw that Kicker makes one and so does Kenwod. Options are not readily available for this size. Though, what I did see was Alpha Sonic makes a compnent set with a 1" Tweeter and a 4X10 woofer. I thought this might be a good option.

By the way this is going into a Full Size Blazer with a Keenwood Head unit and Sirius Satellite Radio.

I was just trying to get some idea of others experiences so I would know what I may need/want to upgrade later or what might be a good pick up now at a low price that I won't have to change later.

So, I want opionions.

Thanks

Dynaudio has great stuff. they can get pretty expensive tho, especially their high end stuff. i'm actually going to be getting a pair of MW170s for my mid's sometime this summer.

one thing chevy did wrong was they insisted on using 4x10s in thier cars.. thats such a horrible size speaker.. if you can, i'd recommend considering trying to fit at least a 5x7 of 6x8 in there.

EDIT: just noticed you were talking about diamond audio, and not dynaudio.. my mistake!

I can't say i know anything about dynaudio, but Diamond audio is just about the most premeir audio system that you can get, minus your more exotic systems like the McIntosh AudioPhile system that's found in the GT, Diablo's, and many high end cars.
Eclipse and BA would have to be very close behind though.

you could get a million different answers when you ask what the most premeir audio system is.. it comes down to what the people really want in the end.. what their prefences are. there's many unknown brands out there that can blow some main stream stuff away, but, just really arent' known of (like my Morels, lol.. they're based out of israel and havent had a u.s. line for too long, so many people don't know too much about them) like michael mentioned.. people's recommendations sometimes end up being what they themselves have and thats it.. so, you only get so much information there. with that said.. diamond audio is a very strong brand.. i wouldn't say the best though.. im not sure what the best is, hopefully i haven't yet experienced it!

I would DEFF. go with adiobahn. My cousin had one in his ranger and it sounded the best.
He also had a MTX which sounded real good untill he blew it.
My brother has adiobahn as well.
They are nice sound equiptment.

Never heard of the other brands

Rockford Fosgate (biased) - 19
MTX - 15
JL- 16
Alpine (High end ****) - 14
Orion - 18
Audiobahn - 13
Alphasonic - 16
Sony - 12 (cheaply made IMO)
Kenwood - 15
Infinity - 17

***THESE ARE ALL PERSONAL OPINIONS***

You and ONLY you should really decide which brand to choose. All audio retailers I've been to let me get in cars, or go into sound booths to listen to the different sizes, types, and companies to compare them. I suggest doing th same, speakers, amps, and subwoofers. Aren't a small investment, choose wisely.

That's like judging Rockford Fosgate by their "Punch" products. I'm not saying Audiobahn is the best out there by any means, but the have some products that are worth purchasing. I am very happy with my sub, althought it does receive just under 1000 watts RMS.

Also don't leave out Eclipse, or my favorite Polk Audio.

Polk used to be good, till they paired up with MOMO...now, it seems the quality and workmanship of product has took a hard nose dive....

Eclipse is the sh!@ though....and the price tag will tell you that..lol

yes Polk was great! i loved their stuff.. haven't used anythign new from them lately.. and like Rob just said.. ever since they decided to slap the Momo name on there, they lost quality (never used it personally, but.. just by listening to soundwalls, they just dont sound as great as they used to). they basically changed their marketing from quality known stuff that stood on their own, to a merge with what kids think they're buying authentic stuff built in part by the Momo of italy.. its sad what some companies do to themselves for more sales.

Momo's involvement is little more than cosmetic design, so I don't know why you would think they interferred with the Polk quality (Don't forget they do Home Theater too) The only thing wrong with the Polk/Momo line is that the current models are about 2 years old now.

lol, well we're talking about car audio, so that's what i was talking about.. not home audio. when you hear momo, you know to think of motorsports, tuning, italian quality, etc.. not speakers sold at circuit city.. dont' get me wrong, i love polk and their quality.. i just think its a shame that they took the route of putting a "sport tuning" company's name along side of theirs on their car audio equipment so that the kids shopping for car audio are thinking they're getting momo craftsmanship in their car audio.. polk should have kept to themselves with their own name, and continued to build stuff like they used to do.

i've never owned a polk component setup, but i did have Polk/Momo 4x6's as my highs and 6x9's for mids in my cavi...yeah that lasted for about one day. The 4x6's sounded like **** for about an hour then they shredded. They couldn't handle the weak *** power of RF 150.2 amp that had Bass Boost off completely...and i had them bridged with the 6x9's...and before anyone says anything, i know they were wire correctly...They sold their quality out when they put on the MOMO name.
