My dad got me this CD/Ipod receiver for my truck for Christmas. He said that when he was ordering it kept asking him if my stock unit had an "auto-set" button on it. He told them that it does have the button, but it in fact does not have it. My question is this, does the lack of an "auto-set" button on my stock unit make any difference in the equipment I need to install the new unit in my truck?

I wouldn't worry about it too much, I browsed through the manual from the link they gave and I did not notice anything out of the ordinary, and even in the wiring section it seems totally normal. Are you going to install yourself? Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to help out. I just upgraded to a deck with full iPod/iPhone control and I love it.

 

I am kind of going to install it myself. I plan on asking a friend of mine is a bit more electronically gifted than I am, so I plan on asking him to help. If he doesn't feel comfortable doing it, I will probably just have it professionally installed. I will let you know if I have any questions. Thanks a bunch!
