Oh BTW these are just measurements for a guideline. I've had to make small mods to the original design. I got the small angled line perfect on the first try! But I still gotta fix some spots. Heres my page I just Fixed for it:

SX12 has a top mount depth of 6.875". Boy that's gonna be a tight fit! I'm guessing you will loose about 2 or 3 clicks, and I hope you got a grill or have plenty of room for excursion?

I'm really short, I just about have the seat all the way up anyways. that design is witht the seat all the way up. You can mod it to fit any subwoofer and personal height just like you can any design. I checked the clearance on a CAD progam and it should have more than enough room. As for excursion, since the box will have sucha low Qtc for this sub, I will probably be getting full Xmax, depending on the power I have on it. I might have to make a custom grille...

Remember the Pythagorean theorem? a^2 = b^2 + c^2

Based on the diagram, it'll be about 21.635 inches.

Yeah, that's about right... besides the fact that the Pythagorean theorem is represented by a perfect world where flaws are none to be seen... My world, actually.

PS- remember that I'm only 5'1" TEST FIT IT!!!

dont just buy a grill some dont have enough clearance foe higher Xmax subs, SX has xmax of 20 or 21 each way, i can never remember someone says this another person says that, so make sure you have enough clearance, shoulda got a low xmax sub duh everyone knows those are better 0_- , i need to get a different one my is too much at 32mm each way, prolly in the top 5 highest xmax subs in world , i mean top 5 suckiest subs in world,

Yeah, but that's in a perfect world, with the perfect amount of power, in the perfectly ported box. Otherwise it ould be whay higher (incorrectly ported box) or lower (not enough voltage) sealed box excursion usually isn't full xmax unless you're running alot of power on a sub in a low Qtc enclousure. For example, an Adire Brahma (the older models) would reach XMAX in a 1.3ft3 sealed enclosure with 1300W on it...

Thanks for all the help, Bamaboy, but I think I'm just gonna go with the RE SX, CDT Braxials, Stock Headunit and an HCCA just to get some better sounds in the Ranger for now. I'll start buying the expensive stuff after so I can get everything tuned correctly and still have a pretty decent system.

When I drew it out on foamboard (posterboard sandwiched with foam) I started with the 4.5" horizontal lines and worked my way around clockwise so that the last line to draw would be the long one and I just used a long level to trace from point a to point b.

I would love to see how you cut that too. In similar boxes, that one panel is always the hardest to cut and mount to the rest of the box. I'd love to see your take on it. Also I forgot to ask; how wide will your box be? Judging by your side angle, it looks like you're totally removing the back upholstry panel and that must mean it'll take up the whole rear... Just curious.

Well, the box is going to be 19" wide, in theory, of course. I won't have to remove and upholstry or anything, not even the jack. My mom and dad are paying for the truck since I'm paying for my college and they told me that I couldn't cut anything and that anyhting I do will be removable, so... It will (should) clear anything. I want to try to get it done quickly, but I work almost everyday, so It's hard to get anything done. But I will let y'all know if I have to modify the design, just check the link that's about to be on my sig...

I see. I was confused because of the "divet" on the backside of the box. My old truck (2003 regular cab) had a shelf 11.75" from the "floor". That shelf was 3/4" deep, and went all the way up to the window. Your diagram indicates there is just a small bump back there, not a notch.

This is what I built and it doesn't extend as far forward as yours, but you can see what I'm talking about in the rear...

well, it is sort of a "bump", i guess. 10.75" up there is a "shelf" that is at about a 30-35 degree angle and then it goes back towards the window at 95-100 degree angle. it's not really a shelf, just a raised section, kinda.
